Checking In
« on: December 16, 2016, 11:29:06 PM »
Thought Id check in with all the super awesome swansea riders...its been a while! Whistler and surrounding areas are covered in snow, and its absolutely freezing here at the mo (-15) with -25 wind chill. My plan to ride Squamish all winter has taken a hit as Squamish has had a foot of snow at sea level, so will be about a month before that melts  :(

So theres not much else to do right now other than pull skids on the icy roads!

Here's some photos so far:

aaand now that its winter and cold:

Yes, I have managed to make some friends over here!

I also made an end of season video for those not on facebook:

Will try and update this thread when I remember, but in short. Its awesome here , even when I cant ride bikes!

Enjoy the snow mike. It's just wet here! Although unseasonably warm which is nice.

Cheers Andy, Kinda jel you guys get to ride bikes right now! I was going to try snowboarding but then I bought a truck, and couldn't afford the winter pass which is 1500 dollars

Snow rides are awesome fun when you have no control anywhere, but its pretty much fatbike territory right now, and il never go full fatbike!

Merry Xmas Mike. looks too cold for me there mate  :o
You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

So bikes are finally back and snow is starting to melt in Whistler as well. Squamish is the place to ride if you like huge rock slabs. il get some photos once i start riding properly. for now though:

That last pic was because i was so happy to see loam and took a picture of it.
