I'll see if I get asked back to take photographs.

The enduring image I have is the look of total exhaustion on you guys from a few years back!

Yep, pretty sure it's the hardest event i've done!

The descents were so good just couldn't help myself from gunning it instead of resting up the legs.

so if you don't like getting your bike dirty then this is probably not the event for you - rock up to one of the nearby trail centres instead.

I may go for it. I don't like XC races but I think it's time I do some shit outside my comfort zone.

Not sure if its a xc race? Just a fun event on the MTB.

Okay, an "XC training event" as it says on the website.

Pedant.  ;D

I think Endurance event is the technical term.  Rob probably referred to the fact that none of us who go are trying to beat any times, just enjoy as much of the riding as we can without passing out in a heap along the way (which if we manage the 50k again is a decent possibility).

Either way, more the merrier.  Like I said, it's a hard slog of an event but some really good riding (as long as you don't get too held up on the descents).

Pedantary intensifies.  8)   ;D

Anyway, I'm up for an XC training event/ endurance event/long hard slog/long fucking ride as I hate long rides these days so doing something outside my comfort zone is worthwhile.

This sounds like really good fun! I noticed the amount of riders is limited to 300, do you know if it gets fully booked quickly? If so, I'll have to start the convince-the-family-process already.

Haven't tried entering for the last couple of years but it always sells out fast from what I remember.  I'd suggest trying to get tickets on the day they come out.

I think it surprised us how fast it sold out year before last. I missed booking because I didn't  decide!
