Long Mynd Batch Burner
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:46:02 AM »
I did this event a couple of years ago and thought it was excellent. It's a bit of a stretch away but it's cracking countryside  and an amazingly well organised event.  They had a feed station which you visited twice on the route and they had bands playing, a bike wash, refreshments/beer tents for afterwards. The route is brilliant.  Reminiscent of Exmoor with its steep Coombes. It's a 50k ish route with lots of climbing, but well worthwhile descents. Entries open on 26th Jan 6pm. It sells out super quick. Anyone interested?

Cool. Not too crazy money then. Can't imagine I wouldn't be up for this. Can you book multiple people at a time? Just thinking it might be difficult to all get in given how fast it sellls out.

tbh - when  I entered, I really didn't realize how far it was to drive!  ::)  Is there anything else up that way for riding?

I'd compare it to the Quantocks, (not knowing Exmoor) it was tough, but there were some great descents.

I might be up for this again.

I seem to remember the BC website does let you book multiple riders. Happy to do that if there's a decent bunch of us.

Craig, you're right, I was thinking Quantocks when I wrote Exmoor!  ::) :-[ Though they're similar I think ;) The distance is less of an issue for me cos I'd combine with a visit to my folks place. That doesn't help everyone else though!!  ;D ::)

Hopton wood could be a possibility.

I want to have a look around the Acton Scott historic farm which is up that there neck of the woods.

Nice one Craig. Completely forgot. I'm in as long as here's at least 1 other person to share fuel with.

I'm up for it, but wouldn't mind making a weekend of it and riding on the sat as well.
