Hello everyone
« on: November 16, 2015, 09:03:36 AM »
Hi.
I'm new to this place, and definitely a mountain biking newbie too, not sure my off roading 20 years ago counts. Got my first bike a couple of weeks ago and only been out on my own so far. Went down the Clyne trail yesterday and had lots of fun so definitely hoping to do more of this.

Welcome to the forum, Chris. The trails in Clyne are fun aren't they.

Thanks.

Been up and down the cycle path on my old bike but never realised the mountain biking trails were there. Pretty hard work on the way up and quite slippery on Sunday, but had lots of fun on the way back down :)

Welcome Chris - so the "off roading" 20 years ago - was that MTB, motocross or 4x4? There's quite a few of us were mountain bikers as kids or young adults, then packed it in only to return many years later for a bit of a mid-life-crisis-esque renaissance. Welcome to the forum. Hope to catch up with you on a trail somewhere. :)

Thanks and hi.

Well I won't call it mountain biking after riding the Clyne tail, but yeah, racing around on my old Raleigh MTB on the paths around Loughor as a kid.

I'd go alone with the mid life crisis, if 34 ain't too young for that :)

Definitely will shown my face some time. Looking forward to meeting some people and having a ride.

34 is the perfect age for a mid life crisis in my book - young enough to ignore creaking knees, old enough to have a credit card for bike bits  :)

see you on the trails at some point

Hi, thanks. I will keep an eye on the rides section to see when anything is going on. Can I come along on a Thursday night ride? Sounds like fun :)

Anyone's welcome on the Thursday night ride. Have you got decent lights? Other than that you don't need much except low expectations for how much actual riding takes place.  ;D

Well I'll definitely be along some time then. Got a couple Cree LED torches strapped to my bars, only used then on the road so far though.
