I promised I'd be better kitted by this Thursday....
« on: January 22, 2014, 03:43:30 PM »
Swapped my hardtail and old cross bike for this.....

Saracen Ariel 142

So now I have one less excuse for holding you all up.

Sadly the service station sandwich I had on my way to the swap has laid me pretty low, so may not be there on Thursday but I'll try.

If not I'll be testing it on the plonker in day light this weekend

Very nice!  Good luck not being ill by tomorrow!

Nice  8) I seem to remember the Ariels getting good reviews a couple of years ago. Well chosen. That rear tyre might leave you getting a bit  tail end happy in Clyne's gloop!  ;)

I wouldn't have chosen that 29er you were on myself, except perhaps if I wanted to do more long, non-technical xc rides. But you seemed to do fine on it in Clyne.

This one looks like it'll be more fun though  :) I never find myself regretting having a full susser, although there's no doubt that serving a bit of time riding trails on a hardtail does the bike skills no harm...

Yes both the tyres seem a bit lacking in nobbles.  Ordered some nobblier more manly ones.  Keep these for the long dry summer.
Think the rear shock needs some love but otherwise I'm very much looking forward to riding it.

Nice, very nice.
