Scotland in May
« on: January 06, 2013, 05:37:17 PM »
Hi,

Myself and the Dutch guys are planning a trip to Scotland for a few days in May.

We'll be riding Dalbeattie on Fri 3rd and Kiroughtree on Sat, Glentress on Sun and Innerleithen on Mon.

Anyone want to join us?

Return to Scotchland sounds fun.  Only 1 trail a day though?

This is looking good. I've told SWMBBITBG that it's a 4 day trip. As soon as I've got the stamp I'll add on the 2 days of travelling up and back!  ;)  ::)   :-\

I booked rooms for us lot coming from Holland here http://www.cowansfarmguesthouse.co.uk, let me know who is looking pretty  certain to come and I can add rooms for you.

Andy, it's about a 6 hour drive from Swansea to Dumfries, so I've always driven up early and ridden on the same day - same for heading home.

Hmm I reckoned 7 with stops. I did Glasgow once, I think in just under 8 with just 2 brief pee stops and near killed me ! We got to my mates wedding but I was exhausted! I dunno - very possible. Also, thinking of hiring a van if there's enough interest - e.g. a 6 way split of the van hire and the fuel for the van and a car? Maybe. I wouldn't trust my car to make Liverpool in one piece!  ::)

Liking the sound of this. Adds to the fun too

Hey Dom,
as you can't view FB, Marcus is booking extra rooms for a few of us tomorrow, so let him know if you would like to be added.

Rob/Dom/Tristan if Craig and I find this van hire is an option, are you guys up for it. Our only problem is we need someone willing to drive  a car with 3 or 4 people in it.

I'm game!

I guess technically I can drive a hire van too if needs be but i'd probably suggest against it if everyone wants to arrive in one piece! (and i'm not sure how difficult it is to get insurance for a hire vehicle if I don't currently have insurance on anything else).

It seems I can come but only with the family and for a whole week.   ;D

If you hire a van I may rent some space for my bike - and maybe telescope, seeing as Galloway is a dark sky site.

I need to sort out family accommodation somewhere nearby. I'll look later.

Not can't Rob, just won't...  ;)

I'll drop him a PM

Yep, up for it. Van hire surely the way to go. Won't we just share the driving and make Tristan promise to concentrate when it's his turn??
