Try this as I'm not sure that link will work without a Facebook account (and this way it's embedded!)

Cobblers??  >:(

 ;D

No seriously, those riders are properly extreme! 50km of mainly poorly laid cobbles, used as farm tracks most of the year, 260km of racing in total. Paris Robaix winners are deservedly known as the hardest riders of all. And one lives (and races) in south Wales - Magnus Backstedt. Sometimes seen at Afan on his MTB. Often seen at cross races. I have raced against a legend of the sport!  8) (And he beat me by miles, but I won't say that too loudly.)

Anyway, I haven't ridden any of the P-R course but I have ridden the Tour of Flanders course where the cobbles aren't quite as nasty apparently. I still ended up with blisters right across both palms and being unable to hold my bars properly by the end. My brother had to take his watch off because his wrist was swelling up so much, and he swore that he could feel his kidneys moving around inside him. In opposite directions.

Despite the battering it was a good weekend. Beer, bikes, frites, more beer.
